How SolRoof Integrates Solar Into the Roof

SolRoof is a steel roof with the solar built in. Some of the panels, called FIT VOLT, have photovoltaic cells in them and make electricity. The rest, called FIT, are steel panels made to match. Flashings, trim and the electrical components are planned along with them, so the whole thing goes on as one roof.

Why there are two kinds of panel

Not every part of a roof is worth covering in solar cells. A north face, a strip that sits in shade all afternoon, the cut pieces along a valley. Those get FIT panels. The faces that see good sun get FIT VOLT. Because the two are made to go together, the roof still reads as one surface.

How a U.S. project runs

We're taking on U.S. projects now. Tell us about yours and we'll review it, tell you whether it's a fit, and take it from there. This is the sequence.

  1. You tell us about the project: the roof, the location, new build or reroof, and your timeline.
  2. We review it for suitability. If SolRoof isn't a sensible fit for your roof, we'll say so.
  3. You get a layout showing which areas would be FIT VOLT and which would be FIT.
  4. You get a quotation, subject to local availability and a technical review.
  5. Permits and utility paperwork are handled as your jurisdiction requires.
  6. The roof and electrical equipment are installed, inspected and connected.

What you won't find on this site

We'd rather be straight about this. We don't put U.S. specifications, approvals, warranty terms or pricing on this site until each one is confirmed in writing. Ask us for the documents that apply to your project and we'll send what we have. The photos here are finished roofs in Europe. They show what the system looks like. They aren't U.S. projects.

Questions we get asked

Is SolRoof a roof or a solar system?

Both. Active FIT VOLT panels and matching FIT steel panels go on together as one coordinated roof.

Does every panel generate power?

No. FIT VOLT panels do. FIT panels are plain steel and cover the rest of the roof.

Where is it made?

SolRoof is designed in Poland and manufactured in Europe.

Can I get a quote now?

Yes. A final recommendation and quotation depend on your location, your project, local availability and a technical review.
